entry to Lexicon by usergroup only

Beitragvon Avid » 20. Apr 2006 21:19

Something else...

In my config, guests cannot access to Lexicon. But they just have to sign in to...

So I'd like to use Lexicon by this way :

• setting up a "special" user group
• to be a part of this group, the users must post x times at least (or something else)
• then, once they become "super user", they gain entry to Lexicon.

Do you think it would be easy doing a mod like this/have any idea about to obtain this kind of feature ?

Thanks again;.

The Auto Group MOD allows you to make it so that a user can be added to a group based upon their post count.
And for control that only groupusers have access to the lexicon, I post you a Snippet in the next days. :)

Here the Snippet is which I promised you http://www.amigalink.de/viewtopic.php?t=592 8)
Place is in your lexicon.php and change $proper_group = 72; to the ID from the usergroup which you wish to has access to the lexicon. :)

There I cannot say anything.
I only now that this MOD exists. I don't use it somewhere, so I can't say anything about problems. Better look at http://mods.db9.dk/viewforum.php?f=15 to solve problems with the Auto Group MOD.

Well... just to tell you...

auto-group in a pertinent MOD, but an instable one. A future fix ou upgrade will resolve the "big-little" problems, maybe...

anyway, I use now Lexicon by the way you gave me.

1 created a new group called "lexicon"
2 added [access_group(xxx);] in lexicon.php
3 then [// Check if user is member of the proper group..] in the function.php file.
4 people, now ask me to join the group, then if they have posted 10 messages at least, I aggree...

In fact it's a very good way to know who's motivated (or not) ;-)

Thanks again for your help !

Oh you had seen that I made a new Snippet. :D
It's a little more comfortable than first. :)

And thank you for the info about the Auto Group MOD.
